BETLEBUM was a Britpop-themed dance night in Brooklyn celebrating the swagger and attitude of ’90s UK guitar music. I built the identity around a clean, geometric wordmark with curved forms that subtly echo the rounded, minimal typography of mid-’90s British album art. To capture the industrial-meets-sleek aesthetic often found in the era’s visual design, I used a metallic gradient panel behind the lettering, a nod to the shiny, polished surfaces popular in the graphic treatments of bands like Blur, Pulp, and Suede. Beneath the main wordmark, I incorporated bright blue event text framed by small red-and-white mod-target accents. The final logo clad in Union Jack colors feels both nostalgic and fresh, and reproduced well across digital assets, posters, and social content.
