Created for a 2016 Halloween week double feature at Le Poisson Rouge, this promotional piece highlights two events: a live performance by Mexrrissey, a Mexico City–based band reimagining Morrissey and The Smiths with an authentically south of the border sound, and Oscillate Wildly, NYC’s long-running Smiths/Morrissey fan party. The challenge was to unify two distinct productions within a single poster. My solution drew from Día de los Muertos iconography to thematically link the Mexican and Halloween elements. Visual references such as papel picado, decorative florals, and bold typographic hierarchy help tell the story of a two-part celebration—vivid, musical, and unmistakably festive.
